Guv honours national awardees from Maharashtra

Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Padma and other national awardees from Maharashtra were felicitated by Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan during a programme at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
The felicitation ceremony was organised by the Vasantrao Naik Rural Development and Agricultural Research Foundation.
Unmesh Joshi, the son of Padma Bhushan awardee former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, accepted the honour meant for his late father.
The honour for Pankaj Udhas was accepted by the wife of the late playback singer.
Calligrapher Achyut Palav and actor Ashok Saraf accepted the honour in person. The recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Kareena Thapa from Amravati was also honored by the Governor.
The felicitation for the social worker Chaitram Pawar, flautist Ronu Majumdar, and renowned doctor Vilas Dangre – all Padma Shri awardees - were accepted by members of their family.
Minister of State for Industries Indranil Naik, President of the Vasantrao Naik Foundation Rajendra Barwale, Working President Avinash Naik, former trustees Mushtaq Antulay, Anand Patwardhan and Anjali Naik Piramal were among those present. UNI AAA ARN SSP
