Haryana: ACB nabs ASI red-handed accepting Rs 9,500 bribe to allow trucks into Yamunanagar

Yamunanagar, Oct 26 (UNI) Acting against corruption, the Karnal unit of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rajni, posted at the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau (HSENB), Yamunanagar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 9,500 and allegedly demanding Rs 1,000 per truck for making entries of trucks carrying construction material from Yamunanagar to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, which led to the recovery of the entire bribe amount.
According to the complainant, he and his friends used to arrange entries for trucks carrying construction material from village Buria in Yamunanagar district to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
It is alleged that ASI Rajni, posted at HSENB Yamunanagar, demanded Rs 1,000 for each truck entry. The complaint stated that she had already taken a total of Rs 5,000 from him on two separate occasions for truck entries. During the operation, ASI Rajni was caught red-handed accepting Rs 9,500 near the HSENB police station, Sector-18, Jagadhri, district Yamunanagar. The entire bribe amount was recovered from the spot. The action was carried out in the presence of a gazetted officer and a shadow witness.
