Haryana: District-level Youth Parliament to be held in Panchkula from Oct 31 to Nov 10; registration opens

Panchkula, Oct 23 (UNI) Young people in Panchkula will get a platform to voice their views on a key national issue, ‘One Nation, One Election’, under the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026–27, with registrations now open for the district-level competition scheduled from October 31 to November 10.
The initiative, being organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Panchkula, under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, aims to promote democratic participation, leadership, logical thinking and engagement with issues of national importance.
District Youth Officer Snigdha Singh today said the competition would give young people an opportunity to express their views on national issues, understand democratic processes and participate in discussions on policymaking. Each participant will get three minutes to present their views on the theme, ‘One Nation, One Election’.
Young people aged 18 to 25 years, as per the eligibility cut-off date of August 17, 2026, can participate. Registration is being conducted through the MY Bharat portal. Singh urged eligible youth, colleges, universities and educational institutions across the district to encourage participation, with special emphasis on women and young people from diverse backgrounds.
The competition will be held in three stages—district, state and national. The top three participants selected at the district level will advance to the state-level competition, while those selected at the state level will get an opportunity to compete nationally. The national-level event is scheduled for January 2027 in the Central Hall of Parliament in New Delhi.
Participants will be assessed on their knowledge of the subject, clarity of thought, communication skills, body language, creativity, language proficiency and ability to manage time effectively.
Singh said the initiative would help young people develop public-speaking and critical-thinking skills while providing them with an opportunity to engage with democratic values and contribute their perspectives to the vision of Viksit Bharat.
