Haryana expands Rs 2,100 monthly support to benefit additional 17 lakh women

Panchkula, Sep 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the expansion of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana to include families with annual incomes up to Rs 1.80 lakh. This extension will provide Rs 2,100 monthly support to an additional 17 lakh women and release Rs 48.91 crore in benefits for nearly 65,000 workers.
At the launch of the scheme’s second phase in Mahendragarh, Saini stated that over 10 lakh women from lower-income families currently receive monthly aid. Increasing the income limit will enable nearly 17 lakh more women to access this support.
The Chief Minister transferred Rs 48.91 crore directly to the bank accounts of 64,783 workers in industrial and commercial sectors, ensuring timely support through welfare schemes.
Saini also released a Rs 33.96-crore sports grant, allocating Rs 1 lakh to each of 3,396 government senior secondary and high schools to enhance sports activities.
These announcements were made during the Vishwakarma Jayanti celebration, where the Chief Minister also launched the SEVA First Innovation Challenge, inviting ideas and solutions from students, startups, entrepreneurs, professionals, researchers, and grassroots innovators.
According to the government statement, the best innovation from each district will receive Rs 1 lakh, while the top three state-level innovations will each receive Rs 5 lakh and state-level recognition.
Regarding artisan welfare, Saini noted that 41,366 applicants have registered under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in Haryana. Of these, 30,655 have completed training, nearly 12,000 have received toolkits, and about 6,000 artisans have obtained loans totaling Rs 56 crore.
The Chief Minister stated that registered construction workers receive a monthly pension of Rs 3,500 after turning 60. The disability pension has been increased to Rs 3,000, with an additional Rs 1,000 after age 60.
He added that workers with disabilities from workplace accidents are eligible for assistance ranging from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 3 lakh. In the event of accidental death, Rs 5 lakh is provided to the family under the Mukhyamantri Samajik Suraksha Yojana.
Saini stated that the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has spent Rs 3,976 crore on construction worker welfare schemes over the past 12 years, including the recent disbursement.
During the event, Saini also launched Haryana’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a campaign running until October 17 to promote service, health, cleanliness, and development across the state.
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated that the tender for a hospital at Satnali has been finalized, with construction targeted for completion by July 2027. She added that approximately Rs 23 crore has been approved for a sub-divisional hospital at Mahendragarh.
She also noted that the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects valued at approximately Rs 135 crore.
