Haryana grants provisional affiliation to 514 private schools for 2026-27 academic session

Panchkula, Sep 21 (UNI) The Directorate of Secondary Education, Haryana, has decided to grant provisional or temporary affiliation for the 2026-27 academic session to 514 existing and unrecognised private schools across the state, according to a memo issued here on Saturday.
The memo, numbered September 21, addressed to the Secretary, Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani, said the government's decision covers schools that had been granted affiliation for the 2025-26 academic session, based on a list received from the Board's office.
According to the memo, the schools fall into three categories. The first comprises schools that existed before the Haryana School Education Rules, 2003 came into effect on April 30, 2003, and are running classes beyond their permanent recognition.
The second covers schools granted temporary recognition by the department before April 30, 2003. The third includes schools permitted to be established between April 30, 2003 and March 31, 2007, that have been receiving provisional affiliation from the Board of School Education, Bhiwani, annually.
The department has asked the Board to open its portal and allow all private schools named in the enclosed list to deposit the affiliation fee, as per Board norms, for the 2026-27 session, provided they were affiliated for 2025-26.
It has also directed the Board to entertain applications from schools not included in the list, subject to valid proof — either a copy of affiliation granted for the 2025-26 session, or a copy of a temporary recognition, permission certificate, or Board affiliation letter issued before March 31, 2007.
The Board has been asked to submit a final, verified list of all schools granted affiliation for 2026-27 to the department for records and compliance. The memo added that other terms and conditions specified in an earlier letter dated December 6, 2024 would continue to apply.
In an accompanying endorsement, the department directed all District Education Officers and District Elementary Education Officers across the state to ensure that any student unable to appear in Board examinations because a private school's affiliation was not extended is permitted to appear from a nearby government school, on payment of fee as per Board norms, after the concerned private school furnishes the required documentary proof of the student.
The memo, issued by the Deputy Director, Private School, for the Director General, Secondary Education, Haryana, Panchkula, lists schools across 21 districts, including Ambala, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Nuh, Palwal and Charkhi Dadri.
