Haryana: Hisar police arrest 5 proclaimed offenders, 3 theft suspects; fake identities used to secure bail

Hisar, Oct 20 (UNI) Hisar police have arrested five proclaimed offenders, including three men who allegedly evaded court proceedings for 12 years after securing bail using false identities in a 2011 cow slaughter prohibition case, and three suspects in two solar equipment theft cases, a police official said today.
The official said an Agroha police team arrested Om Prakash alias Santosh, Ramesh and Rambharose, all residents of Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh, in connection with a case registered in 2011.
The accused has been declared proclaimed offenders by a Hisar court on May 30, 2014, after repeatedly failing to appear in court.
Investigations revealed that Om Prakash had allegedly concealed his identity by using the name Santosh, while another accused, Gulshan alias Gunash, had allegedly given police his elder brother's name, Matru, at the time of his arrest.
Police alleged that false identities and addresses were used to obtain bail, while other accused concealed information about the deception.
A case was registered under Section 209 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and alleged cheating under Section 318(4) also emerged during the investigation, the official said.
The three arrested men were subsequently sent to judicial custody.
In another operation, police arrested Surender, who had been declared a proclaimed person by a Hisar court on July 18, for allegedly failing to appear in judicial proceedings. He was sent to jail following his arrest.
Separately, Barwala police arrested three suspects — Bindar alias Lucky, Chand alias Deepak and Manjeet alias Monu — in connection with two cases involving theft of solar wires and controllers from agricultural fields.
The arrests followed a complaint regarding the theft of approximately 100 feet of solar wire and a controller from a field near Kumbha Khera Road on October 6.
The official said police recovered copper wire allegedly extracted by burning stolen solar cables and concealed near a highway bridge on Hansi Road in Barwala. Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Hisar police warned petrol pump operators against supplying fuel in plastic bags, bottles or other unsafe containers and directed them to report vehicles carrying missing, unclear or suspicious registration plates.
Fuel stations were also instructed to keep CCTV cameras operational, preserve recordings and strictly follow fire safety regulations.
In a separate traffic advisory, Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain warned motorists against using illegally tinted window films, saying violations of prescribed visibility standards would invite action.
The official said enforcement drives against traffic violations and criminal activities would continue across the district.
