Haryana sends 78 senior teachers back to junior posts to clear decks for Headmaster promotions

Panchkula, Sep 22 (UNI) In a sweeping administrative reordering, the Haryana School Education Department has directed 78 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) across multiple subjects to revert to their original Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) or C&V posts, clearing the deck for their promotion to Headmaster and Elementary School Headmaster positions.
The four-page order, issued on September 14, 2026, and signed by Principal Secretary Vijay Singh Dahiya, affects teachers currently posted in Fatehabad, Mahendragarh, Jind, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Sirsa, Panipat, Hisar, Ambala, Rohtak, Faridabad, Panchkula, and Nuh.
The subjects span Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit, and Sociology.
According to the order, the teachers had earlier been promoted to PGT positions.
However, under a directorate memorandum dated July 20, 2026, the department sought their consent to return to their original TGT or C&V posts specifically to make them eligible for consideration for Headmaster and Elementary School Headmaster promotions.
With the teachers agreeing, the department has now formally reversed their designations.
The order states that the affected teachers are being placed back at their respective original posts under the administrative control of the Directorate of Elementary Education, Haryana, for further necessary action in accordance with applicable rules and departmental instructions.
The document lists all 78 teachers by name, employee identification number, current post, district, and place of posting, and has been forwarded by the Directorate of Secondary Education, Panchkula, to concerned officials for follow-up action.
