Heavy rain likely in North Coastal AP and Yanam: Met

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 24 hours and again on June 27, according to the Meteorological Centre here on Tuesday.
In its daily weather report, the Met Office stated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the next five days.
Similar conditions are expected in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours and on June 25, 26, and 27, and in Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours and on June 26 and 27.
Strong surface winds with speeds ranging from 40–50 kmph are also likely to prevail at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next five days.
The forecast also indicates that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places, a few places, or at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next seven days.
The Southwest Monsoon has been normal over Telangana.
The report added that heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Kumaram Bheem district of Telangana during the last 24 hours, with rain reported at a few locations across the state during the same period.
