Honeymoon murders case: SIT recover jewellery of Sonam & Raja from MP

Shillong, June 29 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police on Sunday recovered jewellery belonging to Raja Raghuvanshi and his widow Sonam from a flat of one of the accused, Shilom James in Madhya Pradesh, police said. LL
Apart from the jewellery, the SIT also recovered a laptop, pen drive and incriminating documents which the SIT considered crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation into the murder Raja.
The recoveries were made from James’ father-in-law house in Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh during the search operation conducted by the SIT with the help of Madhya Pradesh Police from Alkapuri Police Station.
Earlier on June 26, the SIT along with Madhya Police recovered country-made pistol, two magazines, two round of .32 live ammunition based on the lead provided by James.
James, a property dealer, leased out the flat to Sonam. Ahirwar, the security guard cum carpenter of the flat, and the owner of the flat, Tomar, were arrested recently after evading arrest.
