HP school exam board introduces real-time digital monitoring through ‘Exam Mitra’ app

Dharamshala, Sep 21 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has strengthened the monitoring of examinations through the ‘Exam Mitra’ app to ensure transparency, fairness and smooth conduct of examinations, board chairman Dr Rajesh Sharma said.
Dr Sharma said real-time monitoring would cover key stages of the examination process, from opening of question paper packets to the delivery of answer-book packets to designated dropping centres.
Under the system, examination centres are required to digitally report and record on video the opening of question papers, commencement and conclusion of examinations, and attendance of Centre Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents and students.
The app will also facilitate reporting of Unfair Means Cases (UMCs) and inspections conducted by Flying Squads.
After examinations, real-time video recording and reporting of the packing of answer-book packets will be carried out, followed by digital reporting of their submission at selected dropping centres, helping monitor their safe transfer and compliance with prescribed procedures.
Dr Sharma said examination surveillance had been made multi-layered through the Exam Mitra app, CCTV surveillance and Flying Squads.
He directed examination centre officials and concerned staff to ensure that all mandatory reports and videos were uploaded accurately, completely and within the stipulated time. “Technology-based monitoring will further strengthen transparency, accountability and discipline in the examination system, while ensuring a fair examination environment for every student,” he said.
