Hyderabad: Reliance Foundation donates Rs 1 Cr to Balkampet Yellamma temple

Hyderabad, June 22 (UNI) Nita M Ambani, the Founder-Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, a well-known philanthropist and educationist, has donated Rs one crore to the Goddess Renuka Yellamma temple at Balkampet in the city for the ‘Nitya Anna Dana scheme’ for devotees.
Confirming the donation on Sunday, the temple officials said that Nita Ambani, the ardent devotee of Balakampet Yellamma temple, has transferred the amount to the temple’s bank account directly on June 13.
This donation would be used on the interest earned through the fixed deposit for the Nitya Anna Dana scheme, which the temple offers as ‘Anna Prasadam’ to devotees daily.
Currently, the Anna Prasadam is offered to 150-200 devotees on regular days and 500-600 devotees on Fridays, the temple officials said.
She visits the temple whenever in the city and, recently, her mother, Purnima, offered prayers to Goddess Renuka Yellamma in April, the officials added.
