Implement activities like Kolhapur Festival for branding of Kolhapur: Maha Guv

Kolhapur, Sep 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma today said that initiatives like Kolhapur Festival should be implemented to create a holistic, integrated branding of Kolhapur.
Presiding over a presentation of ongoing major development projects in the district during a visit to Kolhapur, he said, "Kolhapur district is blessed with amazing natural beauty, abundant natural resources and a proud tradition of religious pilgrimage sites, sports, trade and industry. Against this background branding is necessary to promote Kolhapur on the global map and festivals like Kolhapur Festival will be very important in that regard. For this, the connectivity of the airport should be enhanced further."
Stating that administration should implement the campaigns of Drug-Free India and TB-Free India in a very comprehensive manner to create a healthy society, Governor Verma said that creation of addiction-free society is not limited to police administration or government measures, but requires active participation of every citizen, family and society, he added.
