Indranil Sen's daughter appears before police, quizzed for hours

Kolkata, Nov 5 (UNI) After skipping police summons for the last three days, former West Bengal Minister Indranil Sen's daughter Averi on Thursday appeared before detectives at Lalbazar and was quizzed for hours in connection with alleged corruption involving the unauthorised use of the UNESCO's name.
On Wednesday, Averi was sent a second notice from the city police headquarters for appearing before investigators. Sources said Lalbazar was planning to approach the court for issuing an arrest warrant against her if she continued to play truant.
The sources said Averi was grilled over the fund transfers from an account belonging to her company into the account of her father. The investigation focuses on allegations regarding the sale of 'donor passes' for preview shows at 24 Durga Puja pandals and purported irregularities in the tender process for such shows.
Sources indicate that large sums of cash were deposited almost daily into several bank accounts held by Indranil Sen. Investigators are currently scrutinizing the source of the funds generated through the sale of donor passes and government tenders. UNI SSP CDS
