Iran's Supreme Leader seeks compensation for US-Israeli attacks

Tehran, Oct 25 (UNI) Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called for efforts to secure compensation for damage caused by US-Israeli attacks, as US President Donald Trump raised the possibility of renewed military action against Tehran.
Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, according to a statement published on the supreme leader's website.
The meeting focused on judicial reforms, tackling corruption, protecting public rights and speeding up the handling of court cases. Khamenei also called for a forceful response to crimes and for the recovery of material and non-material damages allegedly caused by what the statement described as “crimes perpetrated by the US-Israeli criminals”, Xinhua news agency reported.
The statement said Iran's judiciary should pursue the country's rights and compensation claims seriously, while ensuring that judicial rulings were enforced promptly and effectively. It also called for a “comprehensive and tangible” transformation of the judicial system.
The remarks came as tensions remained high following US and Israeli attacks on Iran that began on February 28. Iran retaliated with waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US bases and assets in the region, while tightening its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.
Trump on Friday threatened to seize Iran's oil resources and suggested the United States could take control of the country.
“Iran is not able to do much now. And we could, if we wanted to, just take all of the oil,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a rally in Florida. “We could take the whole country.”
Asked about US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz's remarks that the conflict could continue for another year, Trump said Washington could bring it to an end quickly.
“We could end it very quickly,” Trump said, adding that the question was whether the United States wanted to “finish it off” or let Iran “wither”.
At the Florida rally, Trump also suggested the possibility of another military operation against Iran.
“We may do another little Epic Fury,” he told attendees, referring to the US military operation launched on February 28 alongside coordinated Israeli strikes.
The remarks came amid reports that US and Israeli military planners had drawn up options for renewed attacks against Iran after the US midterm elections. It remained unclear whether Trump would authorise another operation, according to US media reports.
The prospect of further strikes, combined with Tehran's demand for compensation, underscores the continuing risk of escalation between the two sides despite Trump's statements that the conflict could be ended quickly.UNI AAB
