J&K: At public darbar, Dr Jitendra resolves several issues on-the-spot

Jammu, Oct 18 (UNI) union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday heard public grievances and discussed developmental issues with residents and public representatives during a public darbar at Basantgarh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, resolving several issues on the spot.
Senior officers of the district administration and various departments were present at the interaction, which provided a platform for residents to raise concerns relating to public amenities, infrastructure and local development.
A key project identified during the programme was the construction of a public shed at Chandi Mata in Kalyal village, under Panchayat Balota Upper in Dudu-Basantgarh block, at a cost of Rs 32 lakh.
The project will be funded equally through two sources, with Rs 16 lakh allocated under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) and the remaining Rs 16 lakh through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The proposed facility is aimed at providing a dedicated public space for the local community.
Singh’s public darbars serve as a platform for direct interaction with people across the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda parliamentary constituency, enabling local concerns to be brought to the attention of the administration and the departments concerned.
Such interactions enable local requirements to be brought into focus and facilitate engagement with the district administration and concerned departments on matters relating to public services and development.
The programme was attended by Ramnagar MLA Sunil Bhardwaj, Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Ananth Dwivedi, BJP district president Arun Gupta, senior party leaders Kewal Parihar, Pooja Thakur and Hans Raj, youth leader Shawan Kumar, and other officials and public representatives.
The Public Durbar at Basantgarh forms part of this continued public outreach, with local grievances and development-related requirements constituting the focus of interaction with residents and public representatives.
