J&K police nab drug peddler with cannabis in Kathua

Jammu, June 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested one drug peddler with cannabis (charas) in Kathua district.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Shobhit Saksena, said a drug peddler has been arrested after cannabis was seized from him in Lakhanpur area of the district.
He said information had been received regarding the trade of contrrabands like Charas in the Lakhanpur area.
Acting swiftly, a police team during special checking at Basohli Morh Lakhanpur area apprehended one suspicious person, namely Mukesh Kumar Sof Ranjitpur Anandpur, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu, who was en route from Basohli Morh Lakhanpur towards Basantpur and indulged in illegal smuggling and selling of Charas like contraband to sell drugs among the youth of the area.
During the check, one kg of Charas was recovered from his possession, and he was arrested on the spot.
A case under the relevant sections was registered, and an investigation was taken up accordingly. UNI VBH SSP
