Jharkhand BJP seeks white paper on Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana

Ranchi, Oct 22 (UNI) BJP spokesperson Shobha Yadav on Thursday demanded a white paper on the implementation of Jharkhand’s Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana, seeking details of skill training, job placements, unemployment allowance and expenditure under the scheme.
Questioning the Hemant Soren government’s performance, Yadav alleged that the scheme had failed to deliver adequate training and employment opportunities to the state’s youth. She said the government should disclose how many young people had benefited from the programme and how many had secured jobs after training.
Yadav said 80 block-level skill training institutions were launched in July 2023 under the first phase of the scheme, which aims to equip young people with employment-oriented skills and promote self-reliance. The scheme also provides for unemployment allowance to eligible candidates who do not secure jobs after training, subject to prescribed conditions.
Citing information attributed to the state Labour and Skill Development Department in December 2024, she said around 5.25 lakh youths had received skill training, 4.5 lakh had obtained certificates and approximately 2.25 lakh had reportedly been provided employment.
She questioned the employment status of those who had completed training but had not secured jobs, and sought details of placements, the nature of employment and pending cases.
Referring to the 2026-27 state budget, Yadav said Rs 585 crore had been allocated for the Skill Development Mission. She demanded details of the amount spent, the number of beneficiaries and the outcomes achieved through the allocation.
Yadav urged the state government to publish a white paper covering the current status of all training centres, the number of trainees and certified candidates, job placements, pending placements, unemployment allowance disbursed to eligible beneficiaries and expenditure under the scheme.
She also called for the immediate revival of closed or disrupted training centres and an effective mechanism to improve employment opportunities for candidates after training.
