Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s Mother Roopi Soren Passes Away

Ranchi, Oct 7 (UNI) Roopi Soren, mother of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and wife of former chief minister Shibu Soren, died at a private hospital here on Wednesday.
She was admitted to the hospital on Sept 18 following breathing difficulties. Her condition deteriorated on Wednesday and she was placed under intensive medical care.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited the hospital after her condition worsened. Several state ministers, senior officials and JMM leaders also reached the hospital to enquire about her health.
Roopi Soren was closely associated with Shibu Soren during his political journey.
The state government had postponed the scheduled Cabinet meeting following the deterioration in her health.
Further details about the funeral arrangements are awaited.
