Jharkhand: Ranchi girl sets Guinness World Record with hula hoop

Ranchi, Oct 8 (UNI) Eleven-year-old Ranchi girl Ashwi Vashishth on Thursday received her Guinness World Records certificate and medal after spinning a hula hoop around her nose 80 times in one minute.
Ashwi, a student of DAV Kapil Dev School, had achieved the feat on May 3, 2026, with her performance recorded on the school premises.
Ashwi has also recorded achievements in hula hooping combined with skating. She has entered the Asia Book of Records after spinning a hula hoop around her nose 397 times in six minutes and 40 seconds while wearing inline skates.
Earlier, she had secured a place in the India Book of Records by spinning a hula hoop 226 times in three minutes and 46 seconds while maintaining balance on skates.
Born on Sept 23, 2015, Ashwi is the granddaughter of Rahul Vashishth and Kavita Vashishth of Upper Bazar in Ranchi.
Ashwi said she started practising hula hooping around four to five years ago. About six months before attempting the Guinness record, she began focused preparation and practised regularly.
She credited her family for encouraging her and said her grandfather Ashok Sharma had consistently motivated her. She dedicated the Guinness World Record to her grandfather, parents and family.
The young performer said regular practice and encouragement from her family helped her pursue the record.
