Ladakh has been an inseparable part of India & will always remain so: LAB

Srinagar, Oct 15 (UNI) The Leh Apex Body Thursday condemned China’s repeated attempts to question the status of Ladakh as an integral part of India asserting that Ladakh has been an inseparable part of India and will always remain so.
The LAB has been fighting for the region's constitutional rights.
“The people of Ladakh have consistently stood shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army in safeguarding the nation’s borders, from the 1962 India-China war to the Galwan clash and other instances of Chinese aggression. Our people have made immense sacrifices in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country,” a statement by the LAB said.
“We take pride in being part of India’s democratic framework, which upholds the values of freedom, equality, and constitutional rights. Our patriotism, national commitment, and loyalty to the nation are unwavering and beyond question,” it added.
The statement said no external power can dictate the identity, aspirations, or future of Ladakh.
“Ladakh stands firmly with India, and its people will continue to uphold the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the nation,” the statement said.
The LAB was reacting to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson’s statement that China had “never recognised” the union Territory of Ladakh. China also dismissed India's standardisation of 28 geographical names in the region as “illegal and void”.
