Ahmedabad, May 22 (UNI) Mitchell Marsh bludgeoned a breathtaking 117 off 64 deliveries as Lucknow Super Giants piled up a daunting 235 for 2 against Gujarat Titans in the 64th match of the Indian Premier League here on Wednesday.
After being put in to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Marsh and Nicholas Pooran (56 not out off 27) tore into the Gujarat attack, stitching a whirlwind 121-run stand off just 52 balls for the third wicket. Pooran’s onslaught included 4 fours and 5 sixes, propelling LSG past the 230-run mark.
Marsh made the hosts pay with a stunning display of clean hitting, hammering 10 fours and 8 sixes. He brought up his century and looked in ominous touch before holing out to Sherfane Rutherford at deep midwicket in the 19th over.
Earlier, Aiden Markram (36 off 24) provided a brisk start before falling to R Sai Kishore. The Powerplay yielded 53 runs, setting the tone for the onslaught to follow.
Gujarat Titans' bowlers endured a forgettable outing, with none of them managing to apply the brakes. Rashid Khan conceded 36 runs in just 2 overs, while Siraj, Rabada and Prasidh Krishna all went for over 9 runs an over without taking a wicket.
Skipper Rishabh Pant (16* off 6) applied the finishing touches with two late sixes, as LSG finished with the joint second-highest total of the 2025 season so far.
Chasing 236, Gujarat Titans face a stiff task ahead on what remains a batting-friendly surface under lights.
