Maha: CM launches 'Mahavistar AI' app

Mumbai, May 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday launched the 'Mahavistar AI' app -- the digital friend of farmers, here.
Speaking at the launch of the state-level Kharif season review meeting organised at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre here, he said that farmers will be provided with complete information on agriculture through the 'Mahavistar' -- an artificial intelligence-based app developed by the Agriculture Department.
He instructed all government agencies to make joint efforts to empower farmers.
He also directed to take action against the company if farmers are forced to buy unnecessary seeds.
Highlighting the need of increasing investment in the agricultural sector and also productivity, he said that this will also increase sustainability in agriculture.
Expressing satisfaction that agri-business activities are currently underway in 10,000 villages, the Chief Minister said that emphasis should be placed on organising digital agricultural schools in every taluka and increasing the participation of farmers in it, he added.

Mumbai, May 21 (UNI) Expressing regret over the lapse in etiquette matters during the visit of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Bhushan Gavai to Mumbai, Maharashtra Minister for Protocol Jayakumar Rawal on Wednesday ordered a departmental inquiry to investigate the lapse in etiquette during the Chief Justice's visit and submit an objective report.
