Maha: Ganja worth over Rs 70 lakh seized

Dhule, May 2 (UNI) The police have seized 1010 kg of ganja worth over Rs 70 lakh hidden in a pit in the forest of Rohini Shivar in Shirpur taluka of Maharashtra's Dhule district, an official said on Friday.
Two suspects have been arrested under the NDPS Act in the case.
According to police, acting on a tip off, police raided the forest and discovered a stock of ganja hidden in an area with two people standing guard. The duo started fleeing on seeing the police, who, however, chased and arrested them.
After searching the forest, new soil was found near a tree. A pit was dug, and 34 paper bags filled with ganja were found under the ground with sheets. A total of 1,100 kg of ganja was found. A case has been registered against the two suspects at Shirpur Taluka Police Station. UNI RDS SSP
