KVIC Chairman Manoj Goel inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of senior officials, representatives of Khadi institutions, artisans and entrepreneurs associated with the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Goel said Mahatma Gandhi had established Khadi as a symbol of self-reliance during the freedom movement. He urged young people to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Har Ghar Swadeshi and Vocal for Local initiatives through entrepreneurship, contemporary fashion, digital marketing and e-commerce.
He said KVIC's Baat Khadi Ki podcast would introduce younger audiences to Khadi's heritage, innovation and sustainable lifestyle appeal while promoting the Viksit Bharat 2047 and Aatmanirbhar Bharat visions.
Goel emphasised improved product quality, packaging, branding and digital marketplaces to expand international opportunities for artisans, designers and startups.
According to Goel, the sector's turnover exceeded Rs 1.87 lakh crore in 2025-26, while employment surpassed 2.04 crore people. He expressed confidence that turnover would reach Rs 2.51 lakh crore in the coming years.
