Maha: OBC leader Hake targets Jarange, Mahayuti govt over reservation politics & administrative neglect

Beed, Oct 23 (UNI) OBC leader Laxman Hake has launched a fresh attack on Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil and the Maharashtra government, questioning the ruling Mahayuti alliance’s handling of the reservation agitation and accusing it of neglecting pressing administrative and social issues.
Directly challenging the ruling establishment's conduct during the agitation, he questioned, "Why were Eknath Shinde’s ministers and MLAs pressing Jarange’s feet?"
Criticising Jarange’s campaign, he noted that attempts to cover up fundamental flaws in the issue would not conceal the truth.
Hake also highlighted what he described as "administrative negligence", alleging that government grants and payments to residential schools serving the Abhi community were not being released on time. He claimed that contractors and individuals who had completed water conservation and other development works two to three years ago were still awaiting clearance of their pending dues.
He further alleged that the government was evading responsibility for such issues while remaining preoccupied with political developments.
Raising concerns over the representation of tribal and Bahujan communities in Palghar, Hake claimed that ordinary public representatives were being sidelined while those with substantial financial resources were receiving the backing of the ruling establishment.
He also expressed strong displeasure over alleged irregularities in the ongoing elections to Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies.
Hake claimed that money was being offered to secure the votes of teachers earning more than Rs 1 lakh per month, with the alleged rate going up to Rs 15,000 per vote. The allegations could not be independently verified.
Describing the purported practices as a "reflection of the declining standards of Maharashtra’s political and social life", Hake said the situation was deeply shameful.
