Maha: Prohibitory order issued in Latur Distt

Latur, May 25 (UNI) In order to maintain law and order, public peace and security, Additional District Magistrate Keshav Netke on Sunday issued a prohibitory order in the entire district under Section 37 (1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
An official press statement stated that this order will be in force in entire Latur district from midnight of May 25 to midnight of June eight (both days inclusive).
During the prohibitory period, no person shall be allowed to carry weapons, sticks, swords, spears, batons, guns, knives, sticks, lathis or any other object that can be used to cause bodily harm. No incendiary or explosive material shall be carried, nor shall any stone or other projectile, or any device intended to be thrown or thrown, be kept or manufactured. No body, effigy or image of a person shall be exhibited.
Also, public announcements, singing or playing musical instruments shall be prohibited. Any passionate speech, gesture, display or distribution of pictures, signs, placards or any other articles or objects which are likely to endanger civility or morality, or which are likely to endanger the security of the State, or which tend to be subversive shall be prohibited.
In order to maintain public peace and order in the district, assembly or a procession of five or more persons on any road or at any place has been prohibited.
However, this order shall not apply to funeral processions, marriages, police or other government officers or employees on duty.
Also, during the period of prohibition, all the powers to grant permission for meetings, religious processions, marches and fasts will remain with the superintendent of police, deputy superintendent of police and the concerned police inspector, police sub-inspector.
The notification states that they should give permission after consulting the Sub-Divisional Magistrate before granting permission, the statement added.
