Maha: PWD Nashik Region receives State-level awards for outstanding road & building for 2025-26

Nashik, Sep 29 (UNI) The Nashik Regional Division of the Maharashtra Public Works Department has received the state-level awards for the outstanding road and building for 2025-26.
The awards for 2025-26 honoured notable and distinctive works undertaken by the PWD.
The EPC-10 road improvement project, funded by the Asian Development Bank under the Maharashtra State Road Improvement Project (Part-II), has been selected for the Outstanding Road Award. The project involves improvement of the Daund–Karmala–Paranda–Barshi–Dharashiv Road (SH-68), from Siddhatek in Pune district to Korti in Solapur district, covering stretches from km 103/530 to km 137/260, including sections from km 103/650 to km 127/200 and km 0/000 to km 0/430, in Karjat taluka of Ahilyanagar district.
The new District and Sessions Court building in Nashik has also been selected for the Outstanding Building Award.
The awards were presented at a grand ceremony on 29 September, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, PWD Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, Minister of State for Public Works Indranil Naik, Additional Chief Secretary Milind Mhaiskar, Secretaries Sharad Rajbhoj and Abasaheb Nagargoje, Chief Engineer Arundhati Sharma and other dignitaries.
The PWD undertakes construction and improvement of roads, bridges, buildings for various departments and other public infrastructure. The annual awards recognise outstanding technical and administrative skills demonstrated by engineers in designing, constructing and executing such projects.
The awards are presented annually on Engineers’ Day, celebrated on September 15 to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya. UNI BHG SS
