Maha: Sena (UBT) leader Sushama Andhare blasts MahaYuti govt over power hunger, surging farmer suicides

Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) Taking centerstage ahead of Uddhav Thackeray’s much-anticipated address at the historic Shivaji Park Dasara Melawa, Shiv Sena (UBT) Deputy Leader Sushama Andhare today unleashed a fiery critique against the ruling MahaYuti government, accusing the alliance of being consumed by a ruthless chair-grabbing contest while ignoring a devastating agrarian crisis.
Tearing into the internal friction between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, she exposed the hollow rhetoric of the ruling camp as the state bleeds from administrative apathy and rising farmer suicides.
Ms Andhare mocked the visible disarray within the ruling coalition, pointing out that ministers from Shinde’s faction are openly jockeying for the Chief Minister's post, while the political destination and standing of Fadnavis are swept under the rug with conspicuous silence.
Highlighting the sheer desperation of the state's farming community, Ms Andhare dropped a chilling statistic—claiming that a staggering 48 farmers died by suicide in Marathwada alone on the single day of Bail Pola, a festival meant to celebrate the backbone of agriculture. She slammed the government for its absolute criminal silence and failure to present any concrete survival strategy.
Targeting the government's double standards, Ms Andhare criticized the Chief Minister for preaching austerity to ordinary, struggling citizens while ruling leaders squander crores of rupees on public funds and personal displays. "The CM should first force his own ministers and leaders to practise thrift before lecturing the common man," she fired back.
