Mumbai, June 24 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday lashed out at state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his deputy Eknath Shinde over alleged neglect of the Marathi language and their bid to promote Hindi language, accusing them of being enemies of Maharashtra.
Fadnavis is the Chief Minister of this Marathi state and he should first work to improve poor condition of the Marathi schools, he said.
Criticising further, Raut said that Fadnavis should see how the Marathi language can gain strength and how the Marathi people can live with dignity in Marathi soil.
The Sena (UBT) leader cautioned the Chief Minister to take care that he does not become a slave of industrialist Gautam Adani and Lodha Builders.
There is no need for Maharashtra to take Hindi seriously, he asserted and said that people of
Maharashtra and Mumbai know Hindi.
"If there was enmity between Maharashtra and Hindi, would Hindi films, literature and schools be running in the state," he questioned.
