Maha to undertake structural audit of bridges on war footing: Shinde

Satara, Jun 16 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today said that for preventing a repeat tragedy at the Kundmala tourist spot in Pune district, the state chief secretary has been instructed to conduct a structural audit of all bridges on a war footing and take precautions at dangerous tourist spots.
Talking to reporters at Kodoli near Satara city, this evening, Shinde, who participated at a function of Zilla Parishad school, said he has already talked with the Pune district collector after the tragedy. The bridge crashed because it was old and there was a bog crowd on it on Sunday.
Shinde said he has already instructed officials to conduct a structural audit of all bridges in the state to per cent such tragedies.
The goverment also gave top priority for good medical treatment on the injured tourist in this tragedy. UNI SSS SSP
