Maharashtra Board waives class 10 and 12 exam fees for students in 265 drought-hit talukas

Nashik, Sep 29 (UNI) In a major relief to students affected by drought, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has directed all divisional boards to accept online examination application forms from Class 10 and Class 12 students in 265 drought-hit talukas without collecting examination fees for the February–March 2027 examinations, until further orders.
The decision follows a government resolution issued by the Relief and Rehabilitation Department on September 25 which announced various concessions as a special measure in view of drought-like conditions prevailing in 265 talukas across the state. The concessions include a waiver of examination fees for school and college students.
In accordance with the government decision, the state board has instructed all divisional boards to process examination applications for the Secondary School Certificate (Class 10) and Higher Secondary Certificate (Class 12) examinations scheduled for February–March 2027 without charging fees to students from the affected talukas.
The board will issue detailed instructions regarding the implementation of the fee waiver separately. Meanwhile, all divisional boards have been directed to immediately inform schools and junior colleges within their respective jurisdictions about the decision.
The divisional boards have also been instructed to submit reports on the action taken to the state board without delay.
