Maharashtra tragedy; two brothers drown while fishing in river

Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Two brothers were drowned while fishing in a small dam located at Gorsai village in Bhiwandi district of Maharashtra. The rescue operation is going on but yielded no results, officials said here on Saturday.
The victims have been identified as Sagar Dhumal (35) and Akshay Dhumal, alias Chhotya (30), both residents of Gorsai.
According to officials, the incident occurred on Friday at a dam connected to the Kamvari river. The brothers had gone fishing when Akshay accidentally slipped and fell into the water. In an attempt to rescue him, his elder brother Sagar jumped in, but sadly, both drowned, as per police suspicion.
The Bhiwandi fire brigade launched a search operation at around 5:10 PM after being alerted by local villagers.
The rescue operation, conducted jointly by the fire brigade, local villagers, and the Taluka police, continued for over three hours with no results. As night fell, the search was called off, and it resumed this morning again.
