Make strict security arrangements for Durga Puja, ensure traffic is not disrupted: UP CM Yogi

Gorakhpur, Oct 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to make strict security arrangements for Durga Puja.

He stated, "Under no circumstances should traffic be disrupted during the festival." For this, discussions should also be held with Durga Puja committees so that arrangements made by each committee help ensure smooth traffic movement.

On Sunday, after arriving in Gorakhpur, CM met with officials at Gorakhnath Temple to review preparations for Durga Puja and Dussehra, law and order, and development work.
CM placed special emphasis on ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration of Durga Puja and Dussehra.
CM stated, "Durga Puja committees should be consulted to ensure that Durga idols are not installed on roads. The number of people on roads is comparatively higher during festivals, so traffic must not be disrupted. Make a plan that ensures foolproof security while preventing any impact on traffic movement."
He also directed officials to pay special attention to cleanliness during the festivals.
CM Yogi said officials should also meet with Durga Puja committees to ensure Durga idols and pandals are not excessively tall.
He also issued directions regarding DJ volume during idol immersion after the festivals.
He stated, "DJ sound must remain within the prescribed standards so that no one faces any inconvenience." He instructed officials to ensure compliance.
CM Yogi stated that locations for idol immersion should be identified. Where artificial ponds have been constructed, immersion should take place there.
He added that idol immersion should not face any difficulties. Arrangements should ensure idols reach the immersion sites without interruption. There should be no encroachments along the routes, and any loose electrical wires or dilapidated poles should be replaced. Crowd management should be carried out properly.
CM stated that administrative and police officials must inspect the idol immersion routes well in advance and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.
During the meeting, CM Yogi sought information on river water levels and enquired about relief and rescue operations for people affected by floods and heavy rainfall.
He stated, "All possible assistance must be provided to flood-affected people. River water levels must be monitored continuously." He added that all concerned departments must remain on alert.
CM Yogi also reviewed the progress of projects under construction in the district.
He stated, "All works must be completed on time. There must be no delays in any project."
He also directed officials to complete the road on the railway overbridge at Bhopa Bazar in Chauri Chaura as soon as possible.
