Sitapur (UP), May 22 (UNI) A man was sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 40,000 by a special court on Thursday for the murder of a railway employee in Mishrik area of Sitapur district here in Uttar Pradesh, prosecution sources said here.
The sources said one Sangeeta Devi lodged an FIR on January 27, 2021 at the Mishrik police station that Hemendra alias Hemu Rathore called her husband Govind Prasad, a railway employee, on the pretext of a feast and murdered him in a planned manner.
"It was alleged that Govind Prasad had lent Rs 4 lakh to Hemu to buy a tractor, which the accused was continuously avoiding to return," they said.
The sources said based on evidence available on record the court of Additional Sessions Judge Vijay Kumar Azad sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000 for murder and 3 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000 for criminal breach of trust.
