Man, son fall to death from 23rd floor while plucking flowers in Greater Noida

Greater Noida, Oct 30 (UNI) A man and his 11-year-old son died after falling from the 23rd floor of a tower at Mahagun Mywoods Society in Greater Noida's Bisrakh police station area on Friday morning.
According to preliminary information, the child had gone to the balcony to pluck flowers for puja when he reportedly slipped on the stairs. In an attempt to save him, his father also lost his footing, and both fell from the 23rd floor.
Both were rushed to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared them dead.
According to Central Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Praveen Ranjan Singh, the police control room received an emergency alert via the 112 response system.

The DCP said that at around 4:30 am on Friday, a PRV message was received that two people had fallen from the 23rd floor of the Mahagun Mywoods Society tower. Bisrakh Kotwali police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information.

Randeep Patra (40) and his 11-year-old son, Aarav, were found unconscious. Both were immediately taken to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that Randeep Patra was scheduled to visit the Khatu Shyam Temple with his family on Friday morning. The family had to leave early for the visit. Before heading to the temple, the father and son went to the balcony to pluck flowers for the puja. According to reports, they were using a ladder to pluck the flowers when it slipped, causing both of them to fall from the balcony. They sustained serious injuries in the fall.
The incident triggered panic in society. Family members and neighbours rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. Efforts were made to take the father and son to the hospital, but they could not be saved.
After being informed about the incident, the police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Bisrakh police sent both bodies for postmortem examination.
Police said necessary action was being taken based on statements from family members and other evidence. Residents of the society were also shocked by the incident. Family members were inconsolable over the loss of two members of the same family.
