Lucknow, June 29 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati today criticised the Uttar Pradesh government for not sanctioning scholarships to dalit students of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University in Aligarh.



Posting on the social media, she wrote that dozens of colleges in many districts are affiliated to this university and thousands of SC-ST students study there.



"The students are yet to get the scholarship due to laxity on the part of the state government. For this reason, there is anxiety and resentment among the students as there future hangs in balance," Mayawati said.



She wrote that 'the university and district administration also had repeated correspondence in this regard. Despite this, "insensitivity and negligence" at the Social Welfare Department level in Lucknow has delayed the sanction in which around 3500 dalit students have been affected .



"Since this university of Aligarh has been established only by the special efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hence, the CM will definitely find a solution to this serious problem of thousands of Dalit students," she added. UNI XC SSP
