Meghalaya police nabs four persons for robbing from Mumbai tourists

Shillong, June 23 (UNI) Meghalaya police on Monday arrested four persons allegedly for robbing tourists from Mumbai.

The four accused - Chaphrang Nangkiew Sutnga, Wanjop Kharumnuid, Albertstar Kharhujon and Michael Nongrum - broke the window glass of the vehicle and stolen their luggages containing cash Rs 50,000 and an IPhone 13, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when Jay Nand Kishore Joshi and family along with another newly-wed couple who are tourists from Mumbai were having dinner in
a restaurant.

On their return, they found that the window glass of their Innova parked near Mahindra Showroom , Mawblei, was broken and their luggage stolen, police said.

On Monday evening, four persons were apprehended from Mawblei Block B by the Madanrting Special Party with all the items and cash.
