Minister Uike expresses gratitude to Mahayuti govt for setting up Commission for Scheduled Tribes

Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) Maharashtra Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike today expressed gratitude to the Mahayuti government for setting up a separate commission for Scheduled Tribes.
Uike said "on behalf of the one crore thirty five lakh tribal brothers of the state, we congratulate the Mahayuti government for taking the historic decision to set up the 'Maharashtra State Scheduled Tribes Commission' in the state".

For the first time after the formation of the state of Maharashtra, the Mahayuti government has taken this important step for the welfare of the tribal community and made a separate budgetary provision for this commission, he said.

He thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for making a separate budget provision for this commission.
Addressing press conference here he said this commission will help in protecting the constitutional rights of the tribal community.
He said "this commission will greatly benefit the tribal community. A chairman and four non-official members will work in this commission and the expenses incurred for it have also been approved. This commission will work for the empowerment of the Scheduled Tribes and for their just rights".

He also said the commission will do the valuable work of presenting the problems of the tribal community, especially regarding education, health and migration, before the government.
