Misunderstandings are being spread among farmers about Shaktipeeth Highway: Nitesh Rane

Mumbai, July 3 (UNI) Alleging that false narratives are being spread among the farmers about the Shaktipeeth Highway project. Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Nitesh Rane said today that it would be implemented after taking everyone into confidence.
"We will discuss the Shaktipeeth Highway with the concerned officials. Misconceptions are being spread among farmers in Sindhudurg district. Therefore, the highway will be built by taking everyone into confidence," Rane told the media here.
He said the Shaktipeeth Highway project - connecting three and a half Shaktipeeths, two Jyotirlingas and 18 pilgrimage sites including Pandharpur and Ambejogai in Maharashtra - will be implemented by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The planning of this project as well as the provision of Rupees 20 thousand crores for land acquisition was approved in the Cabinet meeting.
However, now farmers from 12 districts are opposing the Shaktipeeth Highway, and demonstrations and agitations are being held at various places, said Rane.
Rane said that the Shaktipeeth Highway is for development of the state and its people.
He said a meeting was held two weeks ago, and work has started by taking people into confidence. UNI SP NST SSP
