Modi Govt to replicate Kerala model Loka Kerala Saba

Thiruvananthapurm, May 24 (UNI) Acknowledging the success of the Kerala's CPI(M)-led Left Government in diaspora outreach, the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre has approached the State for details on the Loka Kerala Sabha (LKS), with plans to replicate the
model in other migrant-heavy regions.
The Union Ministry of External Affairs is taking steps to present the Loka Kerala Sabha model to
other states. For this purpose, a letter has been sent to the Chief Secretary of Kerala by Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry, Ankan Banerjee, requesting detailed information about the Sabha.
This move follows a recommendation by the Parliamentary Standing Committee. The Committee, in its report released in April, had praised the Sabha and recommended that the Ministry of External Affairs take the initiative to implement similar diaspora platforms in other states.
Loka Kerala Sahha is a platform designed to involve Non-Resident Keralites in policy making process.
The Committee have been informed that the initiative allows Non- Resident Keralites from around
the world to share their ideas. discuss issues, and submit policy suggestions directly to the Government of Kerala.
