Motipur sugar mill land set to pave way for industrial development in Bihar

Patna, Oct 31 (UNI) The Bihar government has taken a significant step towards reviving industrial activity in Motipur in Muzaffarpur district by facilitating the industrial utilisation of land belonging to a long-defunct sugar mill.
The state Cabinet has approved the transfer of 266.66 acres of land belonging to the closed unit of the Bihar State Sugar Corporation for industrial development.
Under the decision, 115.08 acres will be earmarked for establishing a sugar mill, while the remaining 151.58 acres will be transferred to the Industries Department for setting up other industrial units.
The initiative is part of the state government's Seven Resolves-3 programme, particularly its vision of ''Prosperous Industries, Empowered Bihar''.
The move is expected to accelerate industrial activities in Motipur and adjoining areas by making land available for new investments and industrial projects.
The proposed allocation will facilitate the development of the sugar industry while also creating opportunities for investment in other sectors.
Motipur and its surrounding areas have a predominantly agrarian economy, offering considerable potential for agro-based industries, food processing, warehousing and logistics.
The availability of land for industrial purposes is expected to make it easier for investors to establish units in these sectors and generate new economic opportunities.
The planned industrial development could also encourage ancillary activities, strengthen local entrepreneurship and create employment opportunities for people in the region.
The government expects the planned utilisation of the land to contribute to the broader objective of expanding Bihar's industrial base and promoting balanced regional development.
