MPSC students’ agitation being given political turn, says BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute

Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) BJP MLA Vikram Pachpute on Tuesday alleged that attempts were being made to give a political turn to the agitation by Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants and claimed that students were being used for political purposes.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office here, Pachpute said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had always been willing to address students’ concerns and urged political parties to refrain from using students for political purposes.
He alleged that attempts were being made to mobilise support from the Congress and other political parties after the students did not respond positively to the agitation.
Pachpute said all MPSC examinations had been postponed to ensure transparency in the examination process.
He said students had positively responded to the decision and thanked the Chief Minister for the move.
He also appealed to students not to get involved in political issues and instead concentrate on their studies. He said the state government was expected to undertake large-scale recruitment, while the V. Radha Committee was holding discussions with students in Mumbai to understand their concerns and suggestions.
The committee's report would be considered before further steps were taken regarding the examination process, he said.
Referring to the ongoing drought situation in the state, Pachpute said addressing the crisis was a collective responsibility of both the ruling and opposition parties.
He criticised NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar for raising several issues, and urged him to focus on matters concerning the drought situation.
