Nagaland exceeds RAMP scheme targets

Dimapur, Oct 30 (UNI) Nagaland has exceeded its targets under both the Udyam Registration and FSSAI Registration and Licensing interventions implemented under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme.
The scheme, implemented by the Nagaland industries and commerce department, in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), resulted in 13,676 Udyam registrations against a target of 12,800 and 3,423 FSSAI registrations and licences against a target of 3,000, extending support across all 17 districts of the state, according to an official report on Friday.
Under the Udyam intervention, the state achieved approximately 106.8% of its registration target. The FSSAI intervention achieved approximately 114.1% of its target.
A total of Rs 57 lakh was reimbursed to over 3,051 eligible beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention, helping reduce the cost burden associated with food business registration and licensing.
The FSSAI registrations and licences comprised 3,321 basic registrations and 102 state licences.
The initiatives were implemented through the district industry centres, with support from the health & family welfare department, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and the Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN).
The coordinated efforts enabled the interventions to reach enterprises and food business operators across the state.
Women accounted for 48% of Udyam registrations and 73.07% of beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention, highlighting their participation in enterprise formalisation and the food business sector in Nagaland.
The RAMP Scheme is a World Bank-supported central sector scheme aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises through improved access to finance and markets, institutional strengthening and enterprise development support.
The Udyam and FSSAI interventions contribute to these objectives by supporting enterprise formalisation and helping food businesses meet applicable registration and licensing requirements.
