Nashik: Accelerate preparations for Simhastha Kumbh Mela flag-hoisting ceremony: Commissioner

Nashik, Oct 20 (UNI) In view of the upcoming flag-hoisting ceremony for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, Commissioner of the Kumbh Mela Authority, Shekhar Singh, has directed that the pace of development work in the Kushavarta Tirtha area of Trimbakeshwar be accelerated by deploying additional manpower to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He further instructed that all arrangements—including beautification, the setup of pavilions (mandaps), seating, and other necessary facilities for the ceremony—must be executed flawlessly.
To review the preparations for the flag-hoisting ceremony scheduled for October 31, Commissioner Shekhar Singh inspected the Kushavarta Tirtha site, its surrounding areas, and the location planned for the helipad.
During the visit, he assessed the current status of the works being carried out by various departments and provided necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
Present on the occasion were MLA Hiraman Khoskar; Trimbak Municipal Council President Triveni Tungar; District Collector Ayush Prasad; Additional Commissioner of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela Authority Kamlakar Randive; Vice-President of the Municipal Council Pallavi Shirsath and several other officials.
While inspecting the development works and the arrangements required for the event at the Kushavarta Tirtha premises, Commissioner Shekhar Singh emphasized that all tasks must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He directed that additional manpower be deployed wherever necessary. He further instructed the concerned agencies to ensure meticulous planning and timely execution of all requirements—including the beautification and cleaning of the area, the erection of pavilions (mandaps), seating arrangements, and other event-related necessities.
He also stressed the importance of making adequate provisions for the safety of the dignitaries, public representatives, and citizens expected to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Furthermore, he urged the relevant departments to maintain close coordination to ensure there are no delays in the execution of these tasks.
District Collector Ayush Prasad noted that, given the limited time remaining before the flag-hoisting ceremony, the pace of work must be accelerated.
He directed the concerned departments to prepare a day-by-day schedule for all pending tasks and to submit a daily progress report based on this plan.
The District Collector underscored the need to prioritize pending tasks and ensure their completion within a fixed timeframe.
Each department must plan the tasks under its purview and closely monitor their implementation.
He further instructed that if any obstacles arise, they must be addressed immediately to ensure that all arrangements are fully operational and ready well before the event.
During the inspection, representatives from the concerned departments provided updates on the ongoing works, their current status, and the expected timelines for completion.
