National motorcycle rally flagged off from Imphal

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) Director General of Police Mukesh Singh flagged off a team of Manipur Police motorcycle riders on Tuesday to participate in the National Motorcycle Rally organized in observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026.
The rally, under the theme “Fight Against Drugs”, is to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Addressing the gathering during the flag-off ceremony held at the Police headquarters here, DGP Mukesh Singh informed the participants about Ekta Nagar in Narmada District of Gujarat, where motorcycle rallies from all the states of the country will converge to celebrate Ekta Diwas.
Mukesh Singh said that the rally will spread Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s message of national unity, integrity and collective strength. The rally will also carry the message to motivate all the people across the country to strive for a drug free nation.
He said that joining the rally from Manipur affected by drug menace assumes a great importance. Manipur police joined hands with the security forces across the country in spreading awareness and reinforcing the message of a drug-free nation.
Congratulating the team, he said "our team of bike riders, taking part in the rally, symbolizes our commitment to national integration, discipline, teamwork and public service undertaking a long and arduous journey across different states, right from the eastern end to the western end of the country.
The function was attended by top police officials and personnel of state and central forces.
