Naveen directs BJD media team to sharpen digital outreach

Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Saturday asked the party's newly constituted media cell to step up its outreach through social media platforms as well as print and electronic media to highlight issues concerning Odisha and the failures of the BJP government.
At a meeting with the coordinators of media cells, Patnaik discussed the party's communication strategy and advised the team to effectively communicate the BJD's views on the functioning of the State government.
The party said issues of public interest would be taken to the people through various media platforms, with social media expected to play a key role in the outreach.
The meeting also decided to highlight what the BJD described as growing public dissatisfaction with the BJP government through mass campaigns across the State.
Patnaik asked the team to create greater public awareness on issues affecting the State and work towards strengthening the party's role as a "responsible Opposition", the BJD said.
Senior leaders entrusted with responsibilities as media coordinators of the teams, including Sanjay Das Burma, Arun Kumar Sahu, Pratap Jena, Gautam Buddha Das, Pranab Balabantaray, Lenin Mohanty, Priyabrata Majhi, Swayam Prakash Mohapatra and Amaresh Patri, attended the meeting.
