Naveen Patnaik condemns violence at Satyabadi government office, questions BJP government’s response

Bhubaneswar, Oct 14 (UNI) Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday condemned the alleged violence by BJP workers inside a government office at Satyabadi in Odisha’s Puri district, accusing the state government of repeatedly condoning such incidents.
In a post on X, Patnaik said the incident had shocked the people of Odisha and alleged that “anarchy is crossing its limits” in the state.
“Why is the government repeatedly condoning such anarchy? Just because they are in power, will BJP workers enter government offices and commit violence? Will they vandalise people's property?” he asked.
Patnaik alleged that such incidents had tarnished Odisha’s image and questioned why the state government was remaining silent in the face of repeated acts of violence.
The BJD president also referred to earlier incidents in Pattamundai in Kendrapada district, Athagarh, Jatni and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office, alleging that BJP workers had entered government offices after the BJP came to power in the state.
“Yet, what exemplary action has the government taken?” he asked, questioning the action taken against those allegedly involved in the incidents.
“There is no place for anarchy and violence in peaceful Odisha. The people of Odisha will surely give a fitting response to this,” Patnaik said.
