NCR filed in connection with alleged slapping incident involving PWD Minister

New Delhi, 28 Sep (UNI) The Delhi Police has filed a non-cognizable report (NCR) in connection with alleged slapping incident at Vikaspuri on Sunday involving minister Parvesh Verma during a road inspection in the West Delhi's locality, sources said on Monday.
The alleged incident happened on Sunday during an inspection of road work, regarding which a video had gone viral on social media.
Police are examining the complaint by a person named Sahib Singh and also the civic agency engineer, and the man is said to have been recording the inspection conducted by the minister when the incident took place. There are other complaints that have been received regarding the incident, which will be taken up during the course of investigation, sources said.
Meanwhile, Verma, however, rejected the AAP's version of the episode and accused the youth of provoking the confrontation. In a video statement on the incident, the minister alleged that MLA Jarnail Singh had been asking PWD engineers for a "commission" from the contractor and claimed that engineers had filed a police complaint over the matter. PWD minister also alleged that Singh's supporters were deliberately interfering with the road work and said the MLA had reached the site after being informed about his inspection.
