New five-star hotel to replace Patna's Patliputra Ashoka, international brands in running for bagging rights

Patna, June 25 (UNI) With a new five-star hotel set to replace the iconic Hotel Patliputra Ashoka in the Bihar capital, internationally renowned five-star hotel brands like JW Marriott, Hyatt Regency and ITC Hotels, are in the race for operating the new luxury hotel.
Sources close to the agency M/s Kumar Infratrade Enterprises Pvt Ltd., selected for Development, Operations and Maintenance of the new five-star category hotel on a land parcel measuring approx. 1.5 acres land located at Hotel Patliputra Ashoka, Beerchand Patel Path, said here that negotiations are in the final stages given the iconic status of the project.
The existing structure of Hotel Patliputra Ashoka, one of the oldest hotels in Patna, is to be demolished to make way for the new five-star hotel complex.
Informed sources said that Kumar Infratrade agency will finalise one of the shortlisted three brands for operating the new hotel.
According to the source, the lease period for the new luxury hotel will be of 60 years plus 30 years.
Giving details of the terms and conditions of the lease, the sources said the agency selected will furnish an annual lease premium of INR Rs.7.57 Crore (Exclusive of applicable taxes and duties, levies, GST etc.) to Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) and this Yearly Lease Premium amount will also increase by 10% every five years.
The five star hotel will be made as per norms and guidelines of the Ministry of Tourism of the central government.
