Drogo Aerospace’s JK 250e UAV gets DGCA type certification

Hyderabad, Oct 15 (UNI) Hyderabad-based defence technology firm Drogo Aerospace on Thursday announced that its JK 250e unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations, has received Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) type certification.
With the latest certification, the company’s tally of certified platforms has risen to six, the company said in a release.
The JK 250e is a fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV that combines fixed-wing flight efficiency with the ability to take off and land vertically without a conventional runway.

It has an endurance of two to three hours and is designed to support surveillance and situational awareness in challenging field conditions.
Drogo Aerospace delivered the UAV to the Indian Army earlier this year.
The certification for training purposes is expected to support operator training and the development of indigenous UAV training capabilities.
Company chief Yeshwanth Bonthu said the JK 250e was the only UAV in India with a hybrid fixed-wing and multirotor configuration to receive DGCA type certification for training purposes.
He said the certification marked a milestone in the development of indigenous UAV technology for defence and training applications.
